Jie Liu is the George B Geller Professor of Chemistry at Duke University. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Shandong University in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1996. His research interests include synthesis and chemical functionalization of nanomaterials, plasmonic catalysis, nanoelectronic devices, scanning probe microscopy, and carbon nanomaterials. He is elected as a Fellow in AAAS (2013), APS (2014) and RSC (2013). He also serves as an associate editor for RSC journal Nanoscale between 2012 and2018. He is currently an associate editor for Nano research since 2018.

Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 126; Google Scholar) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has served as a professor at Purdue (2000-2005), Brown (2005-2012), and Northeastern (2012-2021; serving as Chemical Engineering Department Chair from 2012 - 2019) Universities and has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 30,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. He is currently helping those companies and serves as a professor at Brown University, Saveetha University, Hebei University of Technology, UFPI, and others. Dr. Webster has numerous awards including: 2020, World Top 2% Scientist by Citations (PLOS); 2020, SCOPUS Highly Cited Research (Top 1% Materials Science and Mixed Fields); 2021, Clarivate Top 0.1% Most Influential Researchers (Pharmacology and Toxicology); 2022, Best Materials Science Scientist by Citations (Research.com); and is a fellow of over 8 societies. Prof. Webster is a former President of the U.S. Society for Biomaterials and has over 1,350 publications to his credit with over 55,000 citations. He was recently nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Prof. Webster also recently formed a fund to support Nigerian student research opportunities in the U.S.

Harald Fuchs is a Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Münster, Germany. In 1984-85he spent a post-doctoral yearat IBM Research Laboratory, Zurich, Switzerland, in the group of G. Binnig & H. Rohrer (Nobel Laureates in 1986). In 1985 he joined the polymer research laboratory of BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany, being responsible for the development of ultrathin organic films for novel technologies. In 1993 he was appointed a Chair Professor and Director of the Physical Institute of the University of Münster. There,he initiated the transdisciplinary Center for Nanotechnology (CeNTech) in the year 2000 and became its scientific director. Fuchs’ research activities focus on nanoscience and -technology. His group has published more than 700 peer reviewed papers and has submitted 58 patent applications, He has given over 350 invited talks worldwide and is the founder of several startup companies.He was the initiator and speaker of the first international large-scale Sino-German CRC Project jointly funded by the NSFC and DFG. H. Fuchs received many awards and technology prizes. He also received the German 1st class Federal Cross of Merit in 2009 for his achievements and services in the field of nanotechnology. H. Fuchs is an elected member of the German National Academy of Science ‘Leopoldina’, the German National Academy of Science and Engineering 'acatech', and TWAS.

Dr. Mohamed Khayet is director of the University Complutense of Madrid (UCM) Research Group “Membranes and Renewable Energies (MER)” and Professor (Applied Physics Area) at the Faculty of Physical Sciences (UCM) (Department of Structure of Matter, Thermal Physics and Electronics). He got his Ph.D. (1997) in Physical Sciences and he realized various research stays in international institutions (Industrial Membrane Research Institute in Ottawa, Canada; Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology in Warsaw, Poland; Centre for Clean Water Technologies at the University of Nottingham in UK; Singapore Membrane Technology Centre and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Yale University in New Haven, USA; University of California Berkeley in USA, etc.). Among other grants, he got the Fulbright Grant (2019).He is an expert in the field of membrane science, nanotechnology and renewable energies. He has coordinated various national and international projects funded by different institutions (European Union, Middle East Desalination Research Centre, Spanish Ministries; Companies such as Abengoa, etc.) on membranes and modules engineering for different separation processes. He published over 200 papers in international journals, filed 6 International Patents, published 5 books and various book chapters in the field of membrane science and related technology. Among other recognitions, he received the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) in 2012. He edited various special issues in international journals such as Desalination, Polymers and Membranes. He acted as Editor of the international Journal “Desalination” (2018-2022) and served as associated editor of different journals. Currently, he is member of the Editorial Board of various journals related with water treatment, renewable energy, nanotechnology, membrane science and separation processes.

Born in Israel, Prof. (Emeritus since Jan 1, 2024) Wagner grew up in Belgium, where he earned a License in Physics from the Free University of Brussels (1975). He was awarded MSc (1977) and PhD (1983) degrees in Materials Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel). He spent three years at Cornell University (Ithaca, New York) as a postdoctoral associate and lecturer, before joining the Weizmann Institute’s Department of Materials Research (now the Department of Materials and Interfaces) in 1986. The author of 320 scientific papers (>31,000 citations; h-index 82 – Google Scholar), his interests include the micromechanics of advanced composites and their interfaces, novel man-made materials such as carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites, and the mechanics of natural and nature-inspired structures. In 2000 Prof. Wagner was the elected Chairman of the Gordon Research Conference on Composites in Ventura, California. In 2013 he was invited to present the Harvard-MIT Joint Nanomaterials Special Lecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was the Chairman of the COMPO2014 Nanocomposites and Biocomposites conference at the Weizmann Institute. Wagner was a Guest Professor at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg (Mercator Professorship, 2010 and 2011), the Ecole Centrale Paris (2010), the Centre de Recherches Paul Pascal (CRPP) and CNRS Pessac, Bordeaux (September 2009), ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, Annandale, New Jersey (2007), and at the Max-Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Golm-Potsdam (2005). He has been awarded a number of prestigious awards. The most recent ones include the 2023 ASC Outstanding Research Award (USA), 2019 Israel Vacuum Society Research Excellence Award, the 2017 ASC/DEStech Award in Composite Materials, Purdue University (USA), the 2016 Medal of Excellence in Composite Materials (USA), the 2014 Landau Prize (Israel), and the 2014 Plantin Award (Belgium). Alexander P. Demchenko is the scientist well known globally for his fundamental works on the excited-state dynamics of electron, proton and energy transfer and on their coupling with molecular relaxations in dielectric environment. His research interests that extend to a broad interdisciplinary scale involve photophysics and biophysics, photochemistry and biochemistry. Particularly important are the results of his works on introduction of new generation of fluorescent sensors and probes. Dr. Demchenko graduated from the Department of Physics of the Kyiv State Shevtchenko University in 1967, got PhD degree in Biochemistry in 1972 and Habilitation in Biophysics in 1982. Working in his home institution, Palladin Institute of Biochemistry in Kyiv, Ukraine, he was invited as a visiting professor to different universities and research institutions of USA, Germany, Turkey, Hungary, France, and Taiwan. Presently, he is lecturing at the YuriyFedkovych National University, Chernivtsi, Ukraine. He is the author of two classical monographs “Ultraviolet spectroscopy of proteins” (Springer, 1986) and “Introduction to fluorescence sensing” (Springer, 2009, 2015, 2020 and 2023). This book has become popular in teaching on a graduate level. Its 3-d edition appeared in two volumes. The first volume covering materials and techniques appeared in 2020 [1] and the second volume dealing with applications was published in 2023 [2]. He was also the editor of three books in “Springer Series on Fluorescence”. His contribution to science was marked by election as Honorary member to Hungarian Academy of Sciences, by Palladin award in Biochemistry and by Gregorio Weber award for Excellence in Fluorescence. Professor Raman Singh’s primary research interests are in the relationship of Nano-/microstructure and Environment-assisted degradation and fracture of metallic and composite materials, and Nanotechnology for Advanced Mitigation of such Degradations. He has also worked extensively on use of advanced materials (e.g., graphene) for corrosion mitigation, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion and corrosion-mitigation of magnesium alloys (including for the use of magnesium alloys for aerospace, defence and bioimplant applications). Prof Singhis a senior professor at Monash University, Australia. He is a Guest Professor at ETH Zurich, Switzerland (2020, 2023, 2024), US Naval Research Lab, Indian Institute of Science, and University of Connecticut. He worked as a scientist at Indian Atomic Energy and as a post-doc fellow at University of New South Wales, Australia. Prof Singh’s professional distinctions and recognitions include: Guest Professor of ETH Zurich, Editor of a book on Cracking of Welds (CRC Press), Lead Editor of a book on Non-destructive Evaluation of Corrosion (Wiley), Editor-in-Chief of an Elsevier and an MDPI journals, leader/chairperson of a few international conferences and numerous plenary/keynote lectures at international conferences, over 285 peer-reviewed international journal publications and 15 book chapter, and several competitive research grants (that includes 4 Discovery, 7 Linkage and one ITRH grants of Australian Research Council). Prof Singh has supervised 60 PhD students. His vibrant research group at Monash University comprises of PhD students from different disciplines (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials and Mining Engineering, and Science) as well as from different cultural backgrounds (Australian, Middle-eastern, Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, African, North American and Israeli).

Professor Silvera’s research is in condensed matter under extreme conditions and the physics of cold particles. His interests are in ultra-high pressure and low-temperature physics of quantum fluids and solids. The high-pressure physics uses diamond anvil cells to compress samples to pressures above 5 megabars. The current research program is on hydrogen and its isotopes, with a focus on the study of metallic hydrogen, predicted to be a room temperature superconductor. The lowerpressure molecular hydrogen isotopes undergo a number of phase transitions as pressure is increased. Research on the hydrogens has discovered several new phases, including metallic hydrogen, the broken symmetry phase, a phase called the hydrogen-A phase, and new phases in hydrogen deuteride. Techniques involve Raman scattering, IR spectroscopy, NMR, equation of state measurements, electrical conductivity, etc., as well as the development of high-pressure methods and measurements. For a number of years Bose gases, in particular spin-polarized atomic hydrogen, were the focus of the low temperature program. While he was at the University of Amsterdam, the first cold atom Bose gas was stabilized. This research started the field of cold atom physics. The research program moved on to the study of multi-electron bubbles. These are bubbles in liquid helium containing as few as 2 to as many as tens of millions of electrons. The electrons form a two-dimensional gas on a three-dimensional spherical surface; the size of the bubble can be nanometers to hundreds of microns. This gas of electrons can be cooled far below the Fermi temperature, allowing studies of quantum degenerate properties such as the possibility of superconductivity and superfluidity and other new predicted phases. Prof. Silvera is also a collaborator in a project to measure the electric dipole moment of the neutron. Neutrons are trapped in superfluid helium. Various properties of helium 3 and 4 are studied in a dilution refrigerator to prepare for this experiment.

Paulo C. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at UnB. Professor Morais is member of the Brazilian Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered about 190 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With more than 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than 13,000 citations, and 16 patents, He has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023- Research.com.

Professor Lola M. Reid recently retired with emeritus status in University of North Carolina (UNC). She completed her BA in UNC at Chapel Hill in the field of Biology, Chemistry and she completed her PhD in University of California at San Diego in the field of Cell Biology. Over my career, I have focused on these research themes in murine, porcine, rat, human livers, human and porcine biliary tree and most recently, human and porcine pancreas. She published a many journals like Soluble and matrix signals in paracrine cell-cell relationships, Extracellular Matrix Biology, Endodermal Stem Cell and Maturational Lineage Biology etc.

Prof. Manel del Valle is full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) from 2018. He is active member of the Sensors & Biosensors Group at the UAB since its founding. He has wide experience in teaching and research in analytical chemistry, and, particularly, on the different sensor and biosensor families, use of nanomaterials for sensor preparation, automatic flow analysis systems and computer-based instrumentation. He initiated at the laboratories of the Sensors & Biosensors Group the research lines of sensor arrays and electronic tongues and the use of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy for the development of chemical sensors and biosensors.

He got a PhD from Department of Organic and Polymeric Materials in Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1997 by a study on water and polymer diffusion in aqueous gels using NMR techniques. He is a specialist for measurements of the diffusion coefficients D in polymer solution, especially the D of polymer probe in gels by super high magnetic field gradient. His research interests are 1) Network structure and molecular mobility in food gels studied by NMR methods, 2) Physicochemical property in a nano-size emulsion system, 3) Phase separation in mixed polysaccharide solutions studies by particle tracking technique using fluorescent nanoparticles and 4) Development of nursery care foods. His working careers are 1997-2003 Assistant professor, 2003- 2016 Associate professor, 2016-present at Tokyo University of Marine Science & Technology.He is an associate editor of Food Hydrocolloids.

Jun-Kai Chang graduated from National Cheng-Kung University in 2014 with a dual bachelor degree in Materials Science & Engineering(MSE) and lawsbeing a disciple of of Prof. Fei-Yi Hung learning solarphotovoltaics and silver micro wire bonding in MSE.The same time, Jun-Kai entered National Taiwan University to continue his master degree in Materials Science & Engineering and graduated in 2016 with a master degree in MSE sitting at the feet of Prof. Chao-Sung Lin. After his Ph.D. program and Fositek service, he joined Solar Applied Materials Corp. as a section manage in R&D section, recycling section, refining section, quality section, products section and finally promote as deputy manager in manufacture department and ESG development department. In 2010, Jun-Kai also served in Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technologyas assistant profession. In 2022, he entered the casting group faculty of Metal Industrial R&D Centra(MIRDC) in the department of metals process R&D. Jun-Kai also kept studying master degree in job and received Engineering Management Law master degree in 2022 and 2024 respectively. Associate Professor Dr. Auttasit Tubtimtae was born in Phrae, Thailand in 1983. He received the bachelor’s degree in Education (Physics), Faculty of Education, Naresuan University, Thailand in 2005. He received the master’s degree in Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Thailand in 2007, and his Ph.D. received from College of Science, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan in 2011. Currently, he works at Division of Physics, Department of Physical and Material Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. His research interests in the synthesis of semiconductor thin films and nanoparticles for optoelectronic and solar cell applications.

Huahui Chen retired in December 2021 1983-2021 China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing (CUMTB). Lecturer (1987), associate professor (1993) and professor (1999). The research field includes on the friction and wear of metallic materials, composites, and surface reinforcing coatings (ceramic, cermet and polymer reinforced with WC, Al2O3 and ZTA hard particles and short C fibre etc.), focusing on the fabrication, microstructure, mechanical properties and friction and wear resistance, even corrosion property. The teaching work covers courses teaching for underground students and post- graduate students of materials science and engineering. At present, as a counselor still work on wear and corrosion problems of materials and coatings for some enterprises. Academic duties include Director of the Wear Resistance Materials Science Committee of the Institute of Metal, China (2000-at present); Commissioner of the Tribology Committee of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, China (2004-2019); Member of the editorial board of the academic journals:1. Prof. dr hab. Dariusz Bochenek is currently employed as a Professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) and is the head of a research group at the Institute of Materials Engineering dealing with the production and testing of ceramic materials and composite materials with functional properties for microelectronic and micromechatronic applications. He is a member of the Polish Ceramic Society PTCr's board. He is also a member of the Polish Society of Microscopy PTMi, the European Microscopy Society (EMS), and the International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy (IFSM). He served as director of the Institute of Technology and Mechatronics (2014-2019) and vice director of the Institute of Materials Engineering (2019-2022). Dr. J. Pisk completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, in 2007, and completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2012. She has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, since 2018, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. In 2010, Dr. Pisk joined Professor Poli’s research group in Toulouse, France, for a nine-month research stint. In 2015, she was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship for the project "Diligent Search for Chemical Bio-Sources: Solvent-Free Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Oxidation Processes Catalyzed by Polyoxometalates (PomFree)" through the Newfelpro and Marie Curie Cofund programs, continuing her work in the same research group. Her primary research interests include the study of molybdenum coordination complexes and their catalytic activity in oxidation processes. Recently, she has broadened her focus to investigate the catalytic properties of glass and glass-ceramic materials based on transition metal oxides. Dr. Pisk has authored 50 peer-reviewed research papers to date.
