Lin is Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he has served as Head of the Bioengineering Department, Director of the Robotics and Automation Laboratory, and Director of Special Projects in Engineering. He held professorships in electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering, physiology and biophysics, and physical and rehabilitation medicine. He received the BS, MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Lin is a Fellow of AAAS, AIMBE and URSI, and a Life Fellow of IEEE. He is recognized as Elsevier top 2% of worldwide scientists in their fields for Career Impact and for Single-Year Impact in 2020. He held a NSC Research Chair from 1993 to 1997 and served for many years as an IEEE-EMBS distinguished lecturer. He is a recipient of the d’Arsonval Medal from the Bioelectromagnetics Society, IEEE EMC Transactions Prize Paper Award, IEEE COMAR Recognition Award, and CAPAMA Outstanding Leadership and Service Awards. He served as a member of U.S. President’s Committee for National Medal of Science (1992 and 1993) and as Chairman of Chinese American Academic & Professional Convention (1993). Professor Lin has served in leadership positions of several scientific and professional organizations including President of the Bioelectromagnetics Society, Chairman of the International Scientific Radio Union (URSI) Commission on Electromagnetics in Biology and Medicine, Co-Chair of URSI Inter-Commission Working Group on Solar Power Satellite, Chairman of the IEEE Committee on Man and Radiation, Vice President US National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP), and member of International Commission on Nonionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). He also served on numerous advisory committees and panels for the U.S. Congress, Office of the U.S. President, National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Marconi Foundation, and the World Health Organization. He has authored or edited 15 books, authored 450 book chapters and journal and magazine articles, and made 300+ conference presentations. He has made many fundamental scientific contributions to electromagnetics in biology and medicine including microwave auditory effects and microwave thermoacoustic tomography. He has pioneered several medical applications of RF and microwave energies including invention of minimally invasive microwave ablation treatment for cardiac arrhythmia, and noncontact and noninvasive microwave sensing of physiological signatures and vital signs. He has chaired several international conferences including IEEE, BEMS and ICST (founding chairman of Wireless Mobile Communication and Healthcare - MobiHealth Conference). He was Editor-in-Chief of the Bioelectromagnetics journal from 2006 to 2022, served as magazine columnist, book series editor, guest editor and member of the editorial boards of several journals. A member of Sigma Xi, Phi Tau Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Golden Key honorary societies, and listed in American Men and Women of Science, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Engineering, Who’s Who in the World, and Men of Achievement, among others.

Dr. Shi has been engaged in the field of additive manufacturing (AM) for 25 years and devoted his expertise to the advanced preparation and forming techniques of high-performance polymeric, metallic, and ceramic materials for AM. He is a Distinguished Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He serves as Chair of the AM Branch of Non-ferrous Metals Society of China, Chair of the AM Materials Branch of the Chinese Materials Research Society, Director of the Expert Committee of the AM Technology Center of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, etc. Dr. Shi has developed 63 types of materials for AM, including nylon, polyether ether ketone, high-strength aluminum alloys, iron base hard surface alloys, and silicon carbide, which were used for fabricating over 30,000 polymeric, 500 metallic, and 10,000 ceramic components. The performances of these components are highly competitive with some superior to the reported international advanced level. He has been granted 324 patents and published 9 books and 704 papers. He was listed among the "Top 2% Scientists in the World" by Stanford University and recognized as one of the top contributors in Cross-Field in China in 2022. Dr. Shi has played a pivotal role in establishing several significant research platforms, including the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Digital Material Processing Technology and the Engineering Research Center of AM Ceramic Materials of the Ministry of Education, China. Through these platforms, he has nurtured and mentored eight national-level talents including a Changjiang Distinguished Professor. His team was recognized as “the world's most influential organization in the laser-AM field in 2018 (ranked 1st)” by Virtual and Physical Prototyping, a top international journal, and complimented as "has affected other countries such as Singapore, South Korea, and the United States" in the authoritative Wohlers Report on AM. He won the Second Prize of National Technology Invention Award in 2011 (ranked 1st), the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (2018, ranked 1st; 2001, ranked 3rd), Top 10 Sci-tech Achievements in China in 2011 and Top 10 Sci-tech Achievements in Intelligent Manufacturing in 2020 (both ranked 1st), nine First Prizes of the provincial and ministerial level Scientific Research Awards (five of them ranked 1st), National Pioneer in Innovation Award in 2023 and Nomination for Top 10 National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers in 2012, etc.

Siti Noraini Sulaiman is an esteemed academician and researcher, holding a Ph.D. in Imaging from the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (2012). Her academic journey began with a B.Eng Hons in Electrical and Electronics followed by an MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Medical Imaging), both obtained from the same university in 2000 and 2003, respectively. Her career in academia commenced in 2002 when she joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at UiTM Penang Branch as a contract lecturer. Over the years, she has ascended to the position of Associate Professor, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills. Within UiTM Penang Branch, she has undertaken diverse leadership roles, notably as the Head of Academic Diploma Program, Degree Program Coordinator, and Head of the Electrical Engineering Centre of Studies. Currently serving as the Deputy Rector of Academic, she continues to contribute significantly to the institution's academic excellence. Siti Noraini Sulaiman's extensive involvement in research and academia is evidenced by her multifaceted roles. At Universiti Teknologi MARA, Penang Campus, Permatang Pauh, Penang, Malaysia, she serves as the Deputy Chair of the Advanced Control System and Computing Research Group (ACSCRG) within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, she leads the Research Excellence Entities (EK) Tier 5 initiative known as Advanced Rehabilitation Engineering in Diagnostic and Monitoring Research Group (AREDiM). Her primary research interests revolve around biomedical engineering, specifically focusing on image processing algorithms encompassing image filtering, image clustering, and machine learning techniques. Her impactful research contributions have culminated in the publication of over 80 technical papers in esteemed local and international journals and conference proceedings. Siti Noraini Sulaiman has been a mentor to 12 postgraduate students (both Ph.D. and MSc), guiding them through their research endeavors, with 4 students having successfully graduated under her supervision. Siti Noraini Sulaiman's expertise and wealth of experience extend beyond academia. She is sought after as an examiner for both external and internal postgraduate theses. Moreover, her stature in the academic community is evident through her role as a judge in innovation, invention, and design competitions, as well as her contributions as a reviewer for esteemed journals and conference proceedings. She is an esteemed member of international conference committees, leveraging her knowledge and insights to further the field's advancements. Notably, Siti Noraini Sulaiman has secured research grants totaling nearly 2 million in her dedicated pursuit of advancing the fields of image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and biomedical engineering. These grants have been instrumental in driving impactful research initiatives aimed at addressing critical challenges in these domains.
