Lai-Chang Zhang is a Professor of Materials Engineering and the Program Leader–MechanicalEngineering in the School ofEngineering at Edith CowanUniversity(Perth, Australia). After awarded his PhD inMaterials Science and Engineeringat the Institute of Metal Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof.Zhang held several positions at TheUniversity of Western Australian, University ofWollongong, IFW Dresden and Technical UniversityDarmstadt. His research interests include metal additive manufacturing,metallic biomaterials, nanocrystalline materials and metallic glasses, and nanomaterials for water treatment. He has published more than about 320+ referred journal papers with an H-index of 75 and 19,000+ citations and 28 ESI Highly Cited Papers. He also served as Editor or Editorial Board Members for 10+ journals, e.g., International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing(IF: 10.036), Advanced Engineering Materials (IF: 4.122), etc.

Professor Nan Yao is the founding director of Princeton’s preeminent Imaging and Analysis Center and a Professor of the Practice at Princeton University. As a faculty member, Yao is a ten-time recipient of the Excellence in Teaching and Commendation for Outstanding Teaching Award at Princeton where he has taught more than 4000 students, postdocs, and researchers. As a research scholar, Yao has over 300 scientific publications with significant contributions including the co-discovery of the first natural quasicrystal, a finding that has revolutionized the science of natural crystal chemistry by identifying the third form of solid in nature besides crystalline and non-crystalline. Yao has always been committed to pushing the boundaries of science and engineering to benefit academia, industry and society in myriad ways.
